A Chinese takeaway in Bury St Edmunds which was given a zero food hygiene grading by the council in February has now achieved a “good” rating following re-inspection.
Golden House, in Guildhall Street, now has a food hygiene rating of four, with five being the highest which can be achieved.
The takeaway was re-inspected by the environmental health team at west Suffolk councils on April 6.
Alaric Pugh, St Edmundsbury Borough Council cabinet member for planning and growth said: “We see our regulatory services as a business support service and this excellent improvement is a direct result of our officers’ tireless efforts to help businesses do well.
“I am so pleased to see such a speedy recovery, which is equally due to the positive approach taken by Golden House.
“I congratulate another popular Bury St Edmunds business and wish them every success.”
A spokesman for Golden House thanked its loyal customer base and said it was very pleased with the new grading.
