Sun lovers can breathe a sigh of relief – there is a light at the end of the tunnel and to the seemingly never-ending winter, forecasters have revealed.
Temperatures will soar to highs of 23C this bank holiday weekend – with Suffolk and north Essex set to bask in four days of hot weather and dazzling sunshine.
Weatherquest’s Jim Bacon said the region is in for a prolonged spell of sunny weather from Thursday onwards.
“Tuesday will be a lot better, much brighter and a bit warmer with just a small chance of a shower,” he said.
“Wednesday is a day that starts just about dry but fairly cloudy.
“Patchy rain will turn heavier later on, so that will be a bit of a poor day.
“However, from Thursday onwards we start to see things dry up, and as we get into the weekend high pressure will begin building over us.
“That high pressure could bring us some summer weather from then into Sunday, with temperatures of 21, possibly 23C.”
This weekend’s warmer temperatures could make parts of East Anglia hotter than Morocco, which can expect highs of 21C on Friday and 22C on Saturday.
