A team of nine B&Q employees from across the UK set off from Bury St Edmunds yesterday on the second leg of a 700-mile cycle-athon.
The week-long charity bike ride hopes to raise £20,000 for Shelter.
The team started yesterday, Friday April 20, as they departed from the B&Q store in Risbygate Street in Bury St Edmunds and are cycling 93 miles to reach their next destination, the Norwich B&Q Store.
Spending at least six hours in the saddle every day, each rider will burn 28,000 calories during the seven day challenge which ends on Thursday, April 26.
Steve Gilbert, lead cyclist for the B&Q team, said: “This is absolutely the biggest physical and mental challenge any of us has taken on as we’re not professional cyclists, but it’s going to be worth it.”
Anyone wishing to help raise funds can text BNQC50 £5 to 70070 or visit the B&Q store in Norwich or Great Yarmouth to support the in-store raffles and bucket collection.
