Bus and community transport services across Suffolk were hit by Wednesday morning’s snow storms with many services being cancelled.

There were no Ipswich Buses services in the town until lunchtime as the overnight snow caused major problems on many roads in the town.

The first services started operating about noon – and by the afternoon most of the town’s buses were operating normally.

There were fewer First Eastern Counties buses than normal across Suffolk – and the first services did not start operating until the middle of the day.

School buses were among the first casualties which was fairly academic because many of the schools they served were closed anyway because of the difficulties faced by both pupils and teachers in reaching their schools.

If, as predicted, there is no heavy snow overnight most operators are expected to resume normal services on Thursday.
