An app with the potential to save lives is about to be launched in Suffolk.

The Staying Alive suicide prevention app is being launched by the Suffolk User Forum (SUF).

Features of the app will include quick access to national crisis support lines and crisis services in Suffolk.

The app’s creation follows a major consultation carried out by the charity.

95% of those who took part thought tat an app could be helpful to those in crisis.

Jayne Davey, SUF manager, said: “We are delighted to have received funding for this app, which we are sure will be a great resource to people across Suffolk who may be feeling suicidal.

“Our consultation has shown there is a need for such an app in the county and we are now working closely with designers and hope to make the app live by spring 2018.

“The app will be designed in such a way that other elements identified by our service users can be added in the future.”
