Potter fans countywide put on a spellbinding display tonight for the annual Harry Potter Book Night.
Libraries across Suffolk hosted events which featured book readings, potion making, quizzes, magical crafts, and competitions for best dressed witches and wizards.
Sophie Green from Suffolk Libraries said: “We had an amazing response to our Harry Potter Book Night events and lots of young wizards and witches came along to celebrate these iconic books with us.
“Harry Potter Book Night is a highlight for many of our too staff too and they’ve been brilliant this year in creating a magical atmosphere for all the families attending with quizzes, broomsticks, beasts and butter beers all round.”
Despite the issues over the name, Ipswich Museum’s A School of Magick Night was popular with fans, as activities such as edible magic treat making, henna tattoos and a class in predicting the future were all on the cards.
An event spokesman said: “This was a magical event and a full house.
“Customers turned up dressed in their favourite costumes and the emphasis was very much on laughter and having fun.”
At One sixth form in Ipswich Potter devotees put their knowledge to the test in a magnificently magical quiz, while Ipswich Waterstones held a Fantastic Beasts quiz and fancy dress prizegiving.
