Ipswich Town captain Luke Chambers has praised the club’s summer signings for giving the Blues a much-needed boost.
The Blues sit eighth heading into the busy Christmas period, which begins on Saturday at Championship leaders Wolves, and are the division’s second leading scorers behind the men from Molineux with a total of 37.
Of those goals, 26 have been scored by players who arrived in the summer, with Chambers praising the impact of the likes of Martyn Waghorn, Joe Garner and Bersant Celina.

“We’ve had a decent enough first half of the season and I think most people would have taken where we are if it was offered to us at the start of the season, especially with the injuries we’ve had,” he said.
“It’s definitely a big improvement on last year. It’s a different dynamic. We’ve got goals in us this season and the new boys that have come in have freshened the place up and given everyone a lift. There is a belief here that was can achieve something.”
