A charity which helps young people to improve their reading is looking for new volunteers in Suffolk.

Beanstalk is a nationwide literacy charity which sends volunteers into schools to help children who may struggle with their reading or who simply aren’t interested in the pasttime at all.

Each volunteer works with three children, twice a week for a year. Sessions run by the volunteers are designed to be more fun and informal for the pupils in order to help them develop their reading skills.

In particular the charity are looking for volunteers in Sudbury, Hadleigh and Ipswich .

No previous experience or qualifications are needed to take part in the scheme as the charity provides the necessary training.

3,000 volunteers currently work for the charity nationwide, helping around 11,000 children.
