A stretch of the A11 has near Red lodge has now reopened, after it was closed following a serious collision.

Motorists faced severe delays after the road was closed between the junction for Red Lodge and the B1085 Fordham/Kentford junction.

Fire crews from Newmarket and Mildenhall were called to the scene of the crash, which involved multiple vehicles, including a Fiat car, and happened on the southbound carriageway at about 2.45pm.

Firefighters were joined by police, paramedics and an air ambulance crew at the scene.

One person was seriously hurt in the crash, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Highways England have now announced the crash has been cleared, with the road reopening fully in both directions.
