A 34-year-old man from south London appeared in court today charged with possessing a shotgun and dangerous driving following an incident in Kelvedon on Monday.
Lee Ash, 34 and of Sydenham Hill, Lewisham, also faced charges of possessing a shotgun without a certificate or licence, failing to stop after a crash and driving without insurance.
He appeared before magistrates in Hendon via video link this morning.
Ash was remanded in custody until his next appearance at Harrow Crown Court, on a date to be confirmed.
The charges are in connection with an incident where armed police officers in Essex pulled over a vehicle.
Several police cars and dog units were sent to St Mary’s Square in Kelvedon following reports of a crash on Monday, August 14.
Met Police officers were also at the scene, after pursuing the vehicle on the A12.
No-one is believed to have been seriously hurt in the crash.
