The 11th annual Steam Threshing Day will take place at Bardwell Windmill this weekend in memory of a long-term supporter of the event.
Maurice Ruffles, who had a vast knowledge of the workings of a threshing machine, passed away recently and this year’s event is dedicated to him.
The centre piece of the event is a traditional farming scene which occurred throughout East Anglia during and after harvest time for over 100 years.
There will also be a selection of craft stalls, a display of vintage tractors and vehicles, a children’s fairground ride, as well as tombolas and raffles.
The windmill will be open to take a guided tour, and there will be freshly baked bread, refreshments, a hog roast and a licensed bar selling real ales.
Parking is free and entrance is £2 with accompanied children free.
The Steam Threshing Day will take place on Sunday, August 20, from 10.30am-4.30pm.
