Wickham Market’s Inspirations in High Street opened last May as a community led project, which saw local people buy shares to help businesses and bring the former Co-op back to use – four years after the supermarket moved to new premises.

Last week retailers, villagers and holidaymakers marked its first year anniversary with a celebration involving a birthday cake-cutting.

Sharon Brown, shop project director said: “It was really great.

“The wonderful thing here in Wickham Market is the support that we always get from the local community,” she added.

Lynda Pearce, a director and retailer, added: “Everyone is delighted that the shop has been such a success and we are looking forward to more successful years.”

Inspirations has 25 retailers but there is room for more. Call the shop on 01728 747577 to find out more.
