A man thought to be in his 70s was rushed to hospital in a serious condition today after he collapsed in a supermarket.
A number of emergency medical teams, including an air ambulance and a volunteer first responder, were sent to Sainsbury’s in Cornard Road, Sudbury, just before 10.30am.
The man was taken to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds by land ambulance in a “serious but stable” condition.
His injuries are not considered life-threatening, a spokeswoman for the East of England Ambulance Service said.
Paramedics were at the scene within three minutes.
Among the resources called to the store were a rapid response vehicle, a volunteer community first responder, an ambulance and the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
The air ambulance is believed to have landed in Friars Meadow, Sudbury.
The spokeswoman for the ambulance service said the patient was reported as being in his 70s.
