Aldeburgh Young Musicians (AYM) unites a diverse group of instrumentalists and composers for intensive residential courses, covering everything from collaborative improvisation to contemporary composition and writing for film.

Based at Snape Maltings, AYM comprises around 50 musicians aged eight to 18. Young musicians can apply up to the age of 16.

Students have worked and performed with the likes of Bellowhead, Imogen Heap, Led Bib, Charlotte Bray and The Young’Uns, appearing at festivals including Latitude, FolkEast, London Jazz Festival and Snape Proms, and in live BBC radio and television performances.

To become a member, young musicians need to audition. Fees apply for the scheme, but grants and bursaries are available. The application deadline is March 5. Visit snapemaltings.co.uk/aym.
