An Ipswich man has denied dangerous driving in a jeep and failing to stop for police following an incident on the outskirts of the town centre.
Timay Denton, 28, of Pauline Street, appeared before South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court accused of five offences.
In addition to dangerous driving and failing to stop, Denton also pleaded not guilty to driving otherwise in accordance with a licence and without insurance.
He is also accused of possession of heroin in Norwich on November 26. Denton, who appeared via a video link from Martlesham police investigation centre, did not enter a plea to this charge.
All the motoring matters are alleged to have occurred at around 7.40pm last Thursday.
The dangerous driving is said to have taken place in a Jeep Renegade in Wherstead Road, Station Street, Vernon Street and Bridge Street.
Ian Persaud, representing Denton, made an application for bail. However, magistrates declined the application and remanded Denton in custody. His case was sent to Ipswich Crown Court.
Denton is due to make his next appearance at the crown court on January 3.
