A cast of 50 schoolchildren staged an illustration of life during the Second World War from the perspective of civilians, pilots and members of the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force.
Year three and four pupils at The Abbey preparatory school, in Woodbridge, brought history to life with their dramatic performance depicting the Battle of Britain.
Staged at The Abbey Hall, it told the story of how planes and radar helped win the war and defeat fascism.
John Brett, head of The Abbey, said: “The Battle of Britain was a tremendous production for the children, the atmosphere in the hall took us right back to the summer of 1940.
“We were privileged to welcome a number of Second World War veterans who were visibly moved by the children’s performances.
“The Spitfire that took centre stage was a triumph and all involved should feel very proud.”
