Five flood alerts remain in force today in Suffolk.
The Environment Agency’s live updates show the River Gipping and Rattlesden River between Stowmarket and Ipswich, the Deben and the Lark between Ufford and Debenham and the Thorpeness Hundred River and the River Ore in the Framlingham area as possible locations for flooding following recent heavy rainfall.
Also affected are what the agency refers to as the Suffolk coastal rivers, the Blyth and Walpole rivers and Chediston, Bramfield and Wrentham watercourses.
Today’s forecast is saying more rain is a possibility this afternoon and there may also be some tomorrow.
A flood alert is the Environment Agency’s lowest warning, meaning flooding is possible and communities should be prepared.
The next level is a flood warning, indicating flooding is expected and immediate action is required, while the highest status is a severe flood warning meaning there is a danger to life.
