A community choir is one of eight volunteer-run groups from this region to receive a share of £4,000 in grant funding.
The Rabble Chorus, which has about 250 members across groups in Easton, Woodbridge, Saxmundham and Needham Market, received the second highest number of public votes in Skipton Building Society’s Grassroots Giving Scheme.
Now in its third year, the scheme awards £500 to groups that achieve a high enough proportion of 30,000 votes.
The eight groups from our region among the 162 winners also include the 1st Debenham Scout Group and Suffolk community theatre group, Black and White Productions.
Roy Prenton, Grassroots Giving manager at Skipton Building Society, said: “These self-funded groups work hard to improve their local community and we’re proud that this funding from Skipton will play a huge role in their future growth.”
