Three fire crews from Bury and Ixworth tackled a blaze on the first floor of a building in Heldhaw Road, Bury St Edmunds, yesterday evening.
The first crew on scene requested back-up after being sent at 9.50pm.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one jet and one hose reel to extinguish the fire by 10.28pm.
A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hot spots.
