Staff and airmen at RAF Honington are now officially the world record holders for the most participants in a bleep test in one go.
The record-breaking charity event took place in June, with the Guinness Book of World Records taking several months to verify and authenticate the attempt as the worlds’ biggest.
A total of 593 people took part in the en-masse fitness challenge, which saw competitors run back and forth across the runway, beating a record of 576 set by a school in Hong Kong.
The bleep test is a multi-stage fitness test and involves running between two points, with the pace progressively getting quicker.
The event raised £1,000 for the SSAFA, the oldest military charity in the world which has been previously known as the Soldiers and Sailors Families’ Association.
