A confiscation hearing for three men who were involved in a “large scale” cannabis factory in industrial units at a remote Suffolk farm has been adjourned for a contested hearing.
A total of 236 plants were found in units rented by three men at High Farm, Dalinghoo, during a police raid in February last year and an expert estimated the plants could have yielded three to four crops a year with a potential value of between £117,000 and £180,000.
As well as the plants, police officers found growing equipment including ventilation units,
Earlier this year Stephen Bell, 45, of Constance Close, Witham, Ian Finley, 50, of St John’s Road, Clacton-on-Sea, and Bernard Newman, 42, of Main Road, Frating,near Colchester admitted producing cannabis. Newman was jailed for three years and seven months, Finley for three years and Bell for 21 months.
The confiscation hearing was adjourned until October 9.
