Fire crews have tackled a blaze at a house in Saxmundham which left the occupants temporarily homeless.
A fire service spokesman said “multiple calls” were received at just before 8pm on Tuesday about the fire in Saxon Road, with one stating flames could be seen from the windows and doors of the property.
Crews from Leiston and Saxmundham were sent.
The smoke was making the nearby road unsafe for traffic but the fire was out by 8.35pm. Firefighters remained at the scene to damp-down the property.
The spokesman said: “UK Power Networks have been requested to isolate internal power supplies to the affected property.
“The house has been severely damaged by the fire and the occupants have arranged alternative accommodation for the evening and foreseeable future.”
