Two fire crews tackled a blaze in a cafe in Beach Road, St Osyth, yesterday evening.
Firefighters from Clacton and Weeley attended the fire in the single storey building at 6.27pm.
Wearing breathing apparatus they entered the heavily smoke-logged premises and used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire by 7pm.
A fan was used to clear smoke from the building.
