A quadbike was among items stolen from a home in Chitts Hill, Colchester, last week.
A computer, TV, CDs and CD player were also taken during the burglary between 10.30pm on Wednesday and 8.20am the next day.
Tools were stolen during a break-in at another home in the road from 8pm Thursday and 9am the next day.
Detective Constable Claire Jennings, of Colchester CID, said: “We would also encourage people to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity in the area to us.”
Police also want to speak to the driver of a white Ford Transit van in the town offering goods for sale as they may be able to help with their inquiries.
