Rail services between Ipswich and Cambridge are running at a reduced speed due to a defective piece of track at Dullingham.
The issue means that services are being delayed by up to 10 minutes or diverted via Ely.
The disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Network Rail engineers are due to attend the fault overnight when services have finished for the day.
