A group of travellers which moved in to a supermarket car park in Woodbridge has left, police have said.
Police received a number of calls late on Friday night and in the early hours of Saturday morning reporting around 25 caravans and other vehicles, thought to have come from the A12, had parked up at the Budgens Store in Hamblin Road.
A traveller liaison from Suffolk Coastal District Council approached the travellers this morning before police announced all the travellers had moved on from the car park “without incident” before 2pm.
The district council had earlier opened up Melton Hill car park free of charge to help shoppers with the shortfall of parking spaces.
It was earlier believed the travellers were heading to Cumbria.
