A wholesome handout will ensure schoolchildren have a healthy start to their day.
The East of England Co-op in Aldeburgh donated £500 of vouchers to the local primary school’s Breakfast Club.
Headteacher Debbie Gayler said the club encouraged learning, attendance, good behaviour, punctuality, healthy eating, social development and fun through play.
She said the children always start school with a smile on their faces, ready for learning.
After a breakfast which includes fruit, yoghurt, toast and wholegrain cereal without added salt and sugar, the children help clear away.
The club has grown from three children to as many as 12 on a busy day.
There is a small charge but those entitled to free school meals do not have to pay.
The school subsidises the club, so the donation will mean it can sustain the low cost and ensure that all parents can afford for their child to attend.
