A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was found in a flat.
Essex Police were called shortly after 8.30am this morning to the home above TJ’s Sandwich Bar in Broomfield Road, Chelmsford.
A man’s body was found with multiple injuries including stab wounds.
The area behind The Ship pub has been cordoned off for forensic investigations.
A 29-year-old man of no fixed address arrested on suspicion of murder is in custody being questioned by detectives.
Det Ch Insp Martin Pasmore, who is leading the investigation, said: “I’m keen to speak to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area.
“The victim was found with stab injuries in a property on a busy road and I would urge anyone with information to contact me.”
