Delays to rail services this evening are easing but commuters still face a long wait as the Great Eastern Main Line returns to normal.
Earlier today a points failure between Witham and Kelvedon shut one line between the two stations completely.
As a result operator Greater Anglia had to cancel some services while others were delayed by up to an hour as Network Rail engineers worked to fix the problem.
The issue has now been resolved but delays could carry on until around 8pm. Ticket restrictions from London Liverpool Street have been lifted until further notice.
A bus is available at Witham station for anyone who misses a connection for the line to Braintree. There is a similar operation happening at Marks Tey for any missed connections on the like to Sudbury.
