Fire crews from Suffolk were called last night to rescue a horse stuck in a ditch.
Crews were called to the scene on Ferry Lane in Sudbourne at 9.49pm, where they found a horse weighing around 750kg exhausted in a mud filled ditch.
A pumping appliance from Orford was sent to the incident, along with a water rescue vehicle from Princes Street, Ipswich, and a Unimog 4x4 from Bury St Edmunds.
The crews had rescued the horse mechanically by 11.09pm using lines and a 70mm hose.
The horse, which was unharmed, was left in the care of a vet and the owner.
