A signalling problem at Shenfield causing delays on the main rail line between Norwich and London has now been fixed.
The fault was having a major impact on local Metro services between Shenfield and Liverpool Street.
However there knock-on delays remain on other routes between the capital and Braintree, Clacton, Colchester, Ipswich and Norwich.
The fault follows on from a points problem in Ipswich this morning, and a series of issues on the rail network over the past week.
