A traffic warden was left badly shaken when a motorist shouted and assaulted him.
The incident happened outside Regal Allsorts in Rosemary Road, Clacton, just before 3pm on Monday.
Investigating Officer, Pc Keith Rowland, said: “Thankfully, the 34-year-old man from the Colchester area did not require any medical treatment, but was clearly left shaken as he was just trying to do his job.
“This is a busy road and many shoppers would have seen or heard the shouting and ensuing assault. Anyone who saw the incident could be a key witness or may have seen a silver Mercedes which left the scene along Station Road.”
On Saturday a man was in a dispute with a traffic warden in a similar location, in Clacton, at around 11.45am.
No-one was injured and police have interviewed a 32-year-old man but need to speak to witnesses.
Anyone with information is urged to contact investigating officers at Clacton police station on 101.
