CCTV images have been released following a burglary at the Bath House Hotel on Princes Esplanade, Walton.
The break-in happened on Sunday May 11 between 2.30-5am.
A suspect entered the pub through a window and searched an upstairs flat taking money from a till and fruit machines and a watch from an office.
The suspect is described as a white man. He was wearing a distinctive long-sleeved dark tracksuit top with darker shoulder and elbow pads which had two fluorescent stripes on each shoulder. He was also wearing dark jogging bottoms with a single stripe down each leg and dark trainers with light coloured laces.
Det Con Luke Howard, investigating officer, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who might have seen him running away or anyone that has any information about the burglary.
“The CCTV footage is not very clear but someone may recognise the man from the image. If they do I would urge them to get in touch with me.”
Anyone with information should call Det Con Howard at Clacton CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
