Coastguard and RNLI teams were engaged in a search for a kayaker earlier today.
Thames coastguard received a report of a man in difficulty in the sea off Southwold and tasked the RAF Air Sea Rescue helicopter from Wattisham to help find him.
The coastguard team from Aldeburgh and Southwold RNLI went out to find the man who had made it to shore by the time he was located.
He was checked over as he had been in the water for about 20 minutes but needed no medical attention.
A sunken kayak was later recovered and brought ashore.
