A teenager who was arrested following a bogus police officer scam has been bailed pending further inquiries.
The 17-year-old boy, from London, was arrested yesterday on suspicion of fraud by false representation following an incident in Brandon.
He was arrested after allegedly trying to scam the pensioner, who is from Brandon, out of money.
He allegedly told her she needed to withdraw money from her bank account and advised her that a taxi would collect the cash and take it to London.
The incident was reported to police and the teenager was arrested late on Wednesday on suspicion of fraud by false representation.
He has been released on police bail, pending further enquiries and will return to the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre on April 21.
