The Emergency Agency issued a flood alert for the River Deben last night because of rising water levels.
The alert covers Debenham to Bromeswell. There was also an alert in place between Clopton and Martlesham. It was issued tonight at 9.07pm.
A spokesman said: “We are seeing river levels on the River Deben increasing following the rainfall today. River levels are likely to continue to rise then stabilise especially in the areas of Brandeston and Clopton.
“Over the next eight hours the forecast is for light rain. We will continue to monitor levels and update this message as necessary.”
Last night the Essex Fire and Rescue Service also confirmed they had received a high volume of weather-related calls.
The calls mainly related to trees which had fallen on roads and several traffic collisions.
