A 36-year-old man appeared in court today after armed police officers attended a reported disturbance in Ipswich.
Police were sent to a flat above The Corner Shop in Clapgate Lane at around 10.50pm on Monday after someone was said to have been throwing items out of the property.
Anthony Hoare, of Clapgate Lane, was charged last night with arson with intent or being reckless to endanger life and affray.
He appeared before Ipswich magistrates this morning who committed his case to Ipswich Crown Court.
Hoare was released on conditional bail until his next appearance which is scheduled to be for a preliminary hearing at crown court on January 28.
