Thousands of people have been visiting what is thought to be the largest Christmas tree festival in the country.
Visitors have been pouring in to St Peter and St Mary’s Church in Stowmarket to see the 308 decorated trees spread inside the town landmark.
The trees are designed by some 125 different schools and organisations in the town area.
Reverend Michael Eden said: “We have had a constant stream of people through.
“On the first night we had over 1,000 people come in when the town’s lights were switched-on.“We have had nearly 8,000 in the first week, which is plenty more than last year. People are coming from further afield – from Norfolk, Essex and all over the place.
“We also like to keep the Christian message right at the centre of the festival.”
Dozens of school children have already visited the church, with more expected in the coming weeks.
The festival is running until January 4, 10am-4pm every day with Thursdays open until 7pm.
The town’s carol service will be held at the parish church on Saturday, December 22, from 6pm.
