A Suffolk village has been targeted by thieves after a shed and two vehicles were broken into.

Ringshall near Stowmarket had a spate of thefts overnight on New Year’s Eve, where items including a chainsaw were taken.

It was taken between 3.30-8.15am on Wednesday, January 1. Thieves smashed a window of a large shed in the garden of a property in Lower Farm Road.

Thieves took the chainsaw from inside, which was later found in a nearby field.

Police are linking it to two incidents where vehicles were entered while parked in Lower Farm Road.

The first happened between 11pm and 8am. Thieves got into an unlocked car parked on a driveway and removed a rucksack containing tracksuit trousers, a Swiss army knife and children’s toy.

Other items were removed and found discarded nearby.

The second incident happened at around 4.30am, when a security light at a residential property was smashed and thieves entered another unlocked car, taking a small amount of cash.
