A dog has attacked a couple of horses causing injuries serious enough to need veterinary treatment.
The horses were in Mistley Place Park, near Manningtree, when the black dog, believed to be a Staffordshire bull terrier, went at the animals.
Officers are trying to trace the owner of the dog who is described as a white man, 5ft 9ins tall, aged in his late 20s or early 30s and wearing a baseball cap and casual clothing.
The man was in the company of a young girl, believed to be aged between seven and 11-years-old, who had shoulder-length brown hair. She was walking with a black short-haired cross-bred dog on a lead.
Anyone with information about the incident, which happened at about 1pm on October 12, is asked to contact Pc Paul Kilgannon at Harwich police station on 101.
