Forty rings worth £8,000 have been stolen from a jewellery store in Colchester.
The jewellery was taken from the window of Ernest Jones in Shewell Walk at around 3.30am yesterday. Suspects smashed an eight inch by four inch hole in the glass and removed the items.
A police spokesman said: “Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have information about the break in, anyone who saw anybody acting suspiciously around the time of the break in or if they have been approached by someone offering rings for sale.”
