A Felixstowe pensioner is seeking compensation after his phone was disconnected by mistake.
BT customer Thomas Shevlin, 69, who suffers from emphysema and needs a landline for emergencies, was left without a phone at his Langer Road home for two weeks.
He said: “The first I knew there was a problem was when my wife Jill phoned me and the line was dead. They should have disconnected my neighbour. I want compensation but I can’t even get them to say sorry.”
A BT spokesman said: “We acted on a request from another service provider to take over service at this address. As per the agreed process we wrote to the customer to detail this approach and action to take should this not be correct.
“As no response was received the line was released as per the order.”
