AN ELDERLY man was airlifted from a cruise ship to Ipswich Hospital after suffering abdominal pains.
The 83-year-old, a passenger aboard the Marco Polo, fell ill while the ship was around 12 miles off the coast of Essex at around 7.20pm last night.
The search and rescue helicopter from RAF Wattisham were tasked to take the patient and his wife to hospital.
Felixstowe Coastguard team manned the landing site.
