MID SUFFOLK District Council has elected a new leader and chairman.
Councillors at Mid Suffolk elected Derrick Haley as leader of the council alongside Lesley Mayes as chairmen.
Marilyn Curran was appointed as deputy leader and vice chairman of the executive committee.
Votes were also taken to elect councillors as chairman for the council’s seven committees, including planning, scrutiny and audit. Councillors Haley, Curran and Mayes had served in their respective positions on the district council the previous year.
