AN avid runner is set to pound the streets of the capital for the sixth time as she takes on the London Marathon.
Lorraine Mills, of Bury Road, Stowmarket, first ran the 26.2-mile race in 2000 and is this year fundraising for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and the Ipswich branch of RSPCA.
She said: “The marathon is like childbirth, you complain but you do it again.
“Training is going well although I’m waiting for foot surgery so I’m running through the pain.”
Ms Mills, 41, a member of Stowmarket Striders, is hoping to run the race in four-and-a-half hours and beat her partner Joe Naughton, 51, to the finish line.
