A 73-year-old man from Stowmarket who was arrested yesterday on suspicion of assault and sexual assault in the town has been bailed pending further inquiries.
Although police have not revealed the man’s identity or the position he held at the former Oakwood School, it is understood he was a teacher there.
Lucy Sheehan, a spokeswoman for Suffolk Constabulary, said: “The arrest relates to alleged offences carried out between 1975 and 1996 at Oakwood School in Stowmarket.”
The man will return to the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre on July 3.
Oakwood School closed in 2000.
