POLICE have withdrawn an appeal for witnesses to an alleged robbery in Lowestoft yesterday morning after it was discovered that the incident never happened.
The force initially issued an appeal after a man in his 20s claimed he was walking down an alleyway off Milton Road East between 9.40am and 10am when he was approached by two men. He said one of them had threatened him, and demanded that he hand over his wallet.
However the victim has now informed police that the robbery did not occur and the investigation has subsequently been dropped.
