A MAN has been charged following an assault which left an elderly man with a serious head injury.
The 67-year-old victim had been travelling on an Ipswich Buses service on route 10 on December 13.
The bus stopped in Defoe Road near to the junction with Macauley Road, Ipswich, at around 6.05pm and as he went to get off the bus he was pushed.
He fell backwards and hit his head leaving him unconscious. He is still receiving treatment for his injuries.
Derek Thompson, 26, from Riverside Road in Ipswich, has been charged with GBH without intent and is due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on April 8.
