A VILLAGE road has been closed to allow engineers to carry out emergency repairs because of a gas leak.
Engineers from National Grid were called to the scene on the A12 slip road into Ufford, near Woodbridge.
A spokeswoman for Suffolk Constabulary said they first received the call at 10.30am on Saturday.
She said: “Residents alerted police about it. The road has been closed, nobody was hurt.”
Police said no homes had been affected by the leak and that engineers had been working for hours to resolve the problem.
