TALENTED students have taken to the stage for a popular German play set around the end of the Second World War.
Youngsters from Woodbridge School have been performing Bertolt Brecht’s The Caucasian Chalk Circle at the Seckford Theatre.
The students from years 10 and 11 staged two productions on Wednesday and Thursday evening, much to the delight of audiences.
With civil war raging the play tells the story of a young servant girl who sacrifices everything to protect an abandoned child.
When peace is finally restored the child’s mother returns to claim her son and it is down to a comical judge who calls upon the ancient tradition of the Chalk Circle to determine the rightful mother.
